Yudo Kurita’s work engages with the spiritual and emotional response to the contemporary Anthropocene. Employing diverse aesthetic strategies and mediums—including photography, design, and video— he examines the tension between the need to survive and existential thought, Expressionism and Minimalism, the internal and the external.Beyond photography he is the co-founder and creative director of COMFORT, which produces an annual magazine as well as functioning as a publishing house and providing creative direction for brands and artist.
Kurita continually aims to push the boundaries of being a multidisciplinary artist and creative. Letting ideas, rather than aesthetic, drive the direction of his work.
